The Baltimore Community ToolBank, the third affiliate of the nationwide ToolBank network, announced that Cassandra “Cassi” Champion has joined the team as Executive Director. Champion is a multifaceted executive bringing 20 years experience with nonprofit and public sector organizations in and around Baltimore. Her background in communications and relationship development will ensure the Baltimore ToolBank becomes a trusted resource for investors while providing the utmost in customer service to the charitable organizations that borrow its tools.
The Baltimore ToolBank has already received major sponsorship commitments from Stanley Black & Decker, The Home Depot, The Abell Foundation, Wells Fargo, The Baltimore Community Foundation, M & T Bank, American Wood Moulding, UPS and Northrop Grumman. The Board of Directors, led by Robert Raff of Stanley Black & Decker’s Construction and DIY business based in Towson, selected Champion from a pool of talented candidates eager to help bring this unique resource to greater Baltimore.

ToolBank USA is the national nonprofit network of ToolBanks, which lend high-quality tools to charitable organizations and their volunteers. ToolBanks in Atlanta, Baltimore, Charlotte and Cincinnati serve local nonprofits, schools and faith-based groups that are engaged in charitable activities by making an abundant supply of tools available at nominal cost. A mature ToolBank inventory contains about 150 different tool types ranging from rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, ladders, drills, saws and more, with a total value in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
